A First Hand Account of Beat Violence

The following is a true and detailed account written by a man who was recently assaulted at Burswood Park beat. The Project X Team is extremely concerned about the rising level of beat violence, and strongly urges beat users to be careful and alert if guys choose to use beats. Always consider using safer alternative venues such as gay saunas. If you are a victim of crime, please report it to the police immediately. The fact that you’re a victim of crime outweighs the reason why you were at a beat in the first place. The WA AIDS Council has an understanding with the WA Police Service regarding this and several previous victims of crime at beats have reported cases similar to this to the police, and the perpetrators have been arrested and charged.  For further information, please contact the Project X Team Beats Officer, Steven Fragomeni via email at sfragomeni@waaids.com or call (08) 9482 0000.

With one of Perth’s sex-on-premises venues closing, there may be a few guys out there that are thinking of turning to alternative ways of meeting their sexual needs. There are, of course, other sex-on-premises venues around Perth that are open for business, but their style may not suit everyone.

Beat Violence Rears Its Ugly Head Again
The WA AIDS Council received a telephone call regarding recent assault cases occurring at the infamous McCallum Park (Burswood) beat. According to the information provided by the discreet caller, there has been at least three assault cases in the last two months. His flat mate was physically assaulted. The caller said that the assailants hunted in packs of six, and usually approached the victim by demanding money and car key. The victim does not want to report the case to police because he fears he will be identified as a beat user, and that the ‘police vice squad will be notified’.

Watching your Walnut (The facts about prostate cancer)
I’m sure many of you have heard or read about prostate cancer, but do not have specific information about how serious this cancer can be, or how to check for symptoms. Hopefully, this article will shed some light on the importance of looking after your prostate, not only because it can provide great pleasure for those of you who engage in anal sex (or play with anal toys), but it can also affect your overall health if it becomes cancerous.
